The Cord unitized steel body is silver and features pontoon-style front fenders that contain disappearing headlamps operated by a crank and cable mechanism on each side of the instrument panel. The light assemblies were based on a design used on the Stinson aircraft landing lights. This is one of only two Cord’s equipped with dual fender-mounted spare tires and wheels. While the front doors are rear-hinged, the most significant part of the Cord’s design is the alligator-type hood equipped with seven rows of louvers rather than a more common radiator grille. The interior is finished in blue cloth with light gray trim, and from the driver’s seat, the engine-turned aircraft-type instrument panel with a complete array of gauges is evident.
