The crafted metal is refinished in BMW Avus Blue, with a chromed grille and 1941 Chevrolet tail lights to help define the exterior even further. Beneath the hood is classic 1960s horsepower: a freshly built, highly detailed “Giddy Up 409” Chevrolet W-head engine equipped with a Holley Sniper EFI unit that mimics a dual carburetor setup. Beyond the visible brightwork of vintage-appearance finned valve covers and the polished oval air cleaner are Edelbrock Performer RPM heads and Edelbrock Endurashine coated headers. The rest of the truck’s driveline includes a modern 200R4 transmission with overdrive and a rear 4-link suspension hosting a Ford 9-inch rear end with Mark Williams axles and 4.10 gears. Additional reworking underneath this truck includes a Mustang II front suspension, electrically boosted rack-and-pinion steering, and Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes.
The posh interior is done in black, featuring custom-covered bucket seats, a handmade center console, freshly designed door panels, air conditioning, a Lokar shifter, round-face Classic Instruments gauges centered in the dash and a special Lecarra steering wheel with a W-logo center mounted to a tilt column. Further exterior points of interest are the Art Deco-font “WILLYS” callout lettering and a richly finished wooden bed deck with chrome strip trim, with Billet Specialties wheels featuring wide rear street tires completing the package. If you are a fan of the brand, or simply appreciate subtle craftsmanship, this classic Willys is going to be an attention-grabber for its next owner as well.
