This Skylark was the subject of a body-off restoration and is powered by the famous 322/180 HP Fireball V-8 mated here to an automatic transmission. The V-8 was a breakout engine that ended the era of the straight-8 engines, with 1953 marking the first of the Buick V-8s. Fitted with power steering, power brakes, a power bench seat, power windows and a power convertible top, the Skylark was also a technical knockout for the day. This Buick Skylark is finished in Matador Red with a white convertible top, and the interior is a study in the same color scheme. Rolling on chrome wire wheels with wide whitewall tires, the Skylark was a showstopper in 1953 and continues to be a dream car among dream cars. Full-radius wheel wells, a lowered front windscreen, specialized detailing inside and out, the wire wheels, and so much more fueled the dreams of many and absolutely showed great things that could be had.
