The original 283-cu.in. small-block is fueled by a two-barrel carb, and Chevrolet rated the engine at 185 horsepower when new. The V8 is still adorned with its stock generator, distributor, valve covers, exhaust manifolds, and other components. The engine is reported to start fine, idle well, and not leak nor poof out any smoke. Under prior ownership, a four-speed manual transmission (manufacturer unknown) was installed, with a muscle-car-era Hurst shifter nicely fit in front of the bench seat.
