This particular car began life as a 1964 3.8L Mk X Saloon and was reborn anew in the early 1990's, finished in the famous Briggs Cunningham livery, styled after “short nose” chassis no. XKD525R. Power is supplied by a correct 3.8 liter Jaguar engine with D-type cam profiles and Weber dual side-draft carburetors, mated to a 4-speed manual overdrive transmission. Equipment also includes Dunlop alloy peg drive knock-off wheels, spare tire, correct blue leather seating, seat belts, fuel cell, adjustable coil suspension, disc brakes, aluminum radiator, oil and coolant sumps. Today, it displays a gorgeously mellowed patina with some crazing on what is believed to be the original paint. Additionally, the D-type drives exceptionally well with all safety equipment required for vintage racing, touring and 50-state street legal enjoyment.
