1965 AC Cobra ERA 289 Slabside Replica Light Blue-Silver Metallic

12 hits ID #8338

This ERA 289 ‘Slabside’ is a replica of a Mark II Shelby Cobra and it was subsequently assembled with a BluePrint Engines stroker 331ci Ford V8 paired with a Tremec five-speed manual transmission.

Finished in light silver-blue metallic over red leather, the car is equipped with rack-and-pinion steering, SPAX adjustable coilover suspension, a Jaguar-based rear end mounted in a custom subframe, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ Dayton wire wheels, wind wings, Crow harnesses, and a dual exhaust system.

Recent service included an alignment and break-in oil change.

The cabin is trimmed in red leather which covers the seats, handbrake lever, and dashboard, while black carpets are overlaid by red and black Coco floor mats. Additional appointments include matching leather door pockets, a wood-rimmed steering wheel with an AC-logo center cap, Crow harnesses, and reproduction Ford switchgear. Sound deadening material was used to line the floor and both sides of the transmission tunnel.

Stewart Warner instrumentation includes an 8k-rpm tachometer, a 160-mph speedometer, and gauges for oil temperature, oil pressure, coolant temperature, and amperage. The odometer shows approximately 240 miles, which is the mileage since completion of the build.
