Differences from the standard 289 include a solid-lifter cam, unique cylinder heads with screw-in rocker arm studs, heavy-duty valve springs, 595 CFM 4100 4-barrel, dual-point distributor and free-flowing exhaust manifolds. Externally, the 289 High Performance came with chrome valve covers and an open-element air cleaner. Handsomely dressed in its rich color combination and boasting the original HiPo mill, this very rare, early production K-code convertible is an elite steed.
