Candy Apple Red with a white top, the iconic pony-car convertible is powered by the 289 CI 6-cylinder with 3-speed manual transmission, a popular drivetrain combination that offered economical operation yet peppy performance from Ford’s torquey inline. While most first-generation Mustangs came with the Red interior, this one has the rare Parchment interior that provides a plush look with its tan-colored upholstery. Optional equipment includes a power top and floor console with a shifter between the bucket seats. The convertible is also equipped with an upgraded RetroSound stereo, polished 3-spoke wood steering wheel and steel wheels with chrome GT-style wheel covers and classic whitewall tires. For the Mustang’s second full model year, Ford updated its successful pony car with a horizontal-bar grille, five-dial instrumentation and revised “three-finger” side ornamentation.
