The 396ci/350hp L34 'big-block' (many say it was still 360hp as was the previous year) has been bored .030 over and completely rebuilt. The factory 'closed chamber' heads are excellent for the street as they flow well at moderate RPMs and produce good compression. The 'Rat' is fitted with a Holley performance carb and 396/375 hydraulic Comp Cam w/roller rockers. Factory exhaust manifolds empty into a free-flowing dual exhaust system. The Muncie M-21 wide-ratio 4-speed is fitted with a Hurst Comp+ shifter and transfers torque to a 12-bolt open differential with 3.55:1 gearing. This is a very practical street setup from front to back - this Chevelle sounds and runs great.
