The Scat Pack theme helped establish the Dodge brand in the mind of young performance enthusiasts and the A-body Dart design was the most compact of that group. The matching-numbers engine features a 4-barrel Carter carburetor, chrome valve covers, 383 Magnum-logo air cleaner and dual exhaust with specific A-body manifolds. A desirable feature of this car is the 4-speed transmission, an option which was not available in the later-offered 440 CI street models. The big-block change resulted in further suspension adaptations like heavy-duty torsion bars, springs, shocks and front sway bar. This car is painted in TT1 Avocado Green Metallic and features the dual red bumblebee stripes, GTS 383 emblems, special hood treatment, unique center grille divider and chrome exhaust tips. The Dart GTS came with a black vinyl interior that included bucket seats and a center console, which in this case hosts the black-knob factory 4-speed shifter, as well as a Solid State thumbwheel radio and heat and defrost.
