Since its inception, the Z28 always stood out as a car that could tame corners and attack the drag strip in the same breath. The Z28 had the most powerful option in the Camaro’s 1972 engine lineup, offering 255 HP from a 350 CI small-block. Even the big-block (only available in SS) was less powerful than the LT1 in the Z28, which featured 2.02/1.60 valves within the large combustion chambers, solid lifters and a 780 CFM Holley 4-barrel carburetor. This example features a 4-speed manual transmission for a little extra fun factor behind the wheel.
The Z28 package also provided a special tire and wheel combination consisting of 15x7-inch 5-spoke wheels and F60-15 tires. This one features restored original wheels and a set of reproduction Firestone Wide Oval raised white-letter tires for the most authentic combination possible. The car has been restored to better-than-original condition, wearing Mohave Gold paint offset by white hood and decklid stripes. Inside is a very clean and basic interior, which features brown carpeting and tan vinyl upholstery. The clean dashboard is all original, and this car was not equipped with a console from the factory. Optional equipment includes power steering, power brakes and Soft Ray-tinted glass.
