1972 Chevrolet Cheyenne Super Pickup TH400 automatic transmission

15 hits ID #9398

This frame-off restored truck seems to have all the right boxes checked. Whether all of these options were ordered from the factory or not is unknown, but here is what makes this truck stand out from the crowd today. The Cheyenne Super was the top-of-the-line trim package in 1972, ordered on only 7% of trucks that year, and Chevrolet only made 40,000 short beds, this being one of them, and with the wood floor option no less. It is a factory big-block truck, which accounted for only 8% of total production, and it came with the factory air-conditioning option, of which only 33% featured that year. It was ordered with the TH400 automatic transmission (28% were delivered with it), and it has the rare factory bucket seat and center console option, of which only 4% of production came with. A tilt column is present (9% of production), it has a cargo lamp in the bed, which was only added to 5% of trucks, and, finally, this truck has a factory tachometer, of which only 2% came with that option.
