1972 Mercury Capri 2.6 liter V6 Automatic

46 hits ID #8157

The original owner kept a log of all work performed on the Capri from day one. He also kept the warranty paperwork including build sheet and protecto plate (see photos and video) The original 2.6 litre V6 engine fires up quickly and runs smoothly with good oil pressure and no smoke. According to the original owners log the cylinder heads were rebuilt about 7,000 miles ago. The one thing that is definitely not original is the transmission. In 2004 the owner had the original 4 speed manual gearbox changed to a 4 speed automatic overdrive transmission at a cost of $4,000. due to his health / age (easier to drive). The automatic works well and the car still feels responsive, I personally don't mind it but you could convert it back quite easily as the clutch pedal is still installed and the car was not cut up to install the auto box.
