1982 Chevrolet K5 Blazer LS3 575 HP engine

0 hits ID #8275

This 1982 Blazer has been treated to a modernization allowing it the best of both worlds: classic looks and a powerful engine with a capable chassis. Powered by a 575 HP LS3 V-8 engine from Texas Speed and a Tremec 6-speed transmission, dual electric fans and an aluminum radiator keep things cool. Front tubular A-arms with coilovers from Scott’s Hot Rods ’N Customs along with a tubular 4-link rear suspension with coilovers and front and rear sway bars all provide an infinitely more compliant, athletic and stable ride. Rolling on Raceline 20-inch wheels, the low-profile and wide footprint sustain the grip. Wilwood 4-wheel disc brakes with Hydroboost inspire confidence, again supporting the overall driving feel.
The interior is fairly stock appearing, with custom brown upholstery and coloring creating a comfortable, warm environment tempered by aluminum touches here and there, and with Dakota Digital gauges and Vintage Air furthering the modern touches. Llumar 80 window tint on all the glass, including the windshield, keep UV rays and heat at bay. Painted in a throwback cool two-tone blue and white, a base/clear coat was used for durability and overall shine while a custom, thick-band pinstripe was used to divide the blue and white. With the trim shining bright, it gives the Blazer a unique, original-but-modified look that’s hard to decipher.
