1928 Ford Model A Roadster Pickup

All All 2 hits ID #8235

1928 Ford Model A Roadster pick up. It has been in the same family and business for nearly 40 years. It was a landmark in the Arlington area for almost that long. It had a Texas flag and an American flag on the front bumper along with side boards with the business name the Bedroom Shop. It was pulled out every day and put up every night. I often wondered how it kept running for so long. When I bought the truck they were closing the family owned business and I asked how could this truck start and run nearly every day. They said some days the fuel filter would stop up, and during the 4th of July parade that it attended every year it started over heating from idling too long. It February of 1987 they had some major upgrades installed to cure the problem. They installed a 4 cylinder ford pinto motor, a fuel cell in the back, upgraded the charging system to 12 volts, installed an electric cooling fan and hydraulic brakes. This made it more drivable and the parade overheating problem was gone. We do have the model A flat head four cylinder motor complete along with the mechanical rods and brake parts that will be included in the sale. The paint is cracking in several places, the windshield is cracked as well. The seat has been recovered with new padding and the convertible roof was replaced. The transmission was rebuilt with new bearings when the motor was installed.
