327 CID straight eight-cylinder engine, fully rebuilt in 2013 with receipts ?Three-speed manual transmission ?Briggs-bodied car with ?Goddess of Speed? hood ornament ?Power windows, power front seat, fog lights, driver?s side spotlight, Philco AM radio, bumper guards ?120-inch wheelbase Seeking your very own ?Goddess of Speed? from one of America?s most popular independent car makers? This rare and desirable Packard Super Eight Convertible Victoria is ready for review. This is one of only 4,250 examples built in 1949 and it was Packard?s first open car offered since 1942. This Victoria was owned by a local collector who purchased the car in 2013 from a widow in Oregon. The engine was completely rebuilt in 2013 and in 2016 Classic Car Studio here in St. Louis performed another $13,000 in services, maintenance and rebuilding the complete hydraulic system. All receipts for the work is included with the car. Until 1951, Packard did not follow an annual model year changeover like many of its competitors. The Super Eight was the larger of the two eight-cylinder luxury automobiles produced by the Packard Motor Car Company of Detroit, Michigan and it rivaled Cadillac?s new P-38-inspired models with those newfangled tailfins.
